Roave Agents vs WorldVia: Which Is Right for Credentialed Travel Advisors?

Compare Roave Agents and WorldVia on cost, commission splits, contract terms, and hotel booking tools for credentialed advisors

Roave Agents vs WorldVia: Which Is Right for Credentialed Travel Advisors? cover image

At WorldVia, the share of your commission you keep depends on the plan you pay for. The Individual plan costs $9 per month and keeps a 70/30 split. Moving to 90/10 means upgrading to the $29 Growth plan, and a one-time activation fee applies to every tier.

For an advisor who books mostly hotels, that ladder deserves a closer look. You pay a rising monthly fee to reduce what the host keeps, and you pay it whether or not you book.

WorldVia is an established subscription host with Sabre access for qualified advisors. Roave Agents takes a different approach: direct hotel booking, your full commission, and no contract.

This page compares the two on cost, commission, contract terms, booking tools, and fit, so you can judge which suits your business.

WorldVia is a tiered subscription host agency with Sabre access for qualified advisors. Roave Agents is a direct hotel booking platform for credentialed advisors who keep their full commission, with no contract.

What you pay in year one

WorldVia prices by plan. Individual costs $9 per month, Growth $29, Team $79, and Enterprise $299. A one-time activation fee of $99 applies to the first three plans and $199 to Enterprise. First-year cost therefore runs from $207 on Individual to $3,787 on Enterprise.

Roave Agents includes the first 12 months free, with no card required. After that, the plan costs $24.99 per month or $199 per year, with no per-seat charge.

As a result, the first year at Roave costs nothing, and later years sit between WorldVia's Individual and Growth plans. However, the plan fee is only part of the picture, because it also decides your split.

The split ladder

At WorldVia, the plan you pay for sets the share of commission you keep. Individual keeps 70%. Growth and Team move to 90%, and Enterprise reaches 90 to 95% for multi-agent agencies.

Roave Agents takes no share of the advisor's commission. On net rates, the advisor sets the client price and keeps the difference. On commissionable rates, three tiers apply: Silver at 8%, Gold at 10%, and Platinum at 12%, based on production.

Therefore, the upgrade math matters. Moving from Individual to Growth costs $240 more per year, so it only pays off once annual commission passes about $1,200. At Roave, there is no ladder to climb.

A worked example

Take a $2,000 commissionable hotel stay at a 12% commission, which equals $240.

On WorldVia's Individual plan, the advisor keeps $168. On Growth, the advisor keeps $216. On Roave Agents at the Platinum tier, the advisor keeps $240.

WorldVia's monthly fee applies on top of those splits, so Growth's $348 annual cost narrows its advantage over Individual. These figures are illustrative and assume the same commission rate on both platforms. Actual rates vary by supplier and property.

Contract and flexibility

WorldVia runs month-to-month with a 30-day written notice to cancel and no early termination penalty. That flexibility is a genuine strength.

Roave Agents has no contract and no exclusivity terms. Advisors can use it alongside any host agency or on their own, and they can stop at any time.

Location also separates the two. Roave Agents accepts advisors outside the US, whereas WorldVia accepts only US-based advisors. For international advisors, that decides the comparison before any other factor.

Booking tools for hotel stays

WorldVia spreads its tools across several products, including the TRIO booking platform, the AIVIA assistant, a proprietary CRM, and separate cruise and air booking tools. Direct Sabre access is available as an add-on at an additional cost, with splits of up to 80% on those bookings.

Roave Agents focuses on hotel booking. It searches 200+ suppliers at once, with bookings averaging under 90 seconds. It also re-prices every confirmed, fully refundable booking until check-in and automatically rebooks to a cheaper like-for-like refundable rate. If the cheaper rate is non-refundable, the advisor approves first.

In short, WorldVia offers breadth across travel categories, while Roave puts hotel search and price control in one dashboard. Both let advisors market under their own brand.

Where WorldVia is stronger

WorldVia offers real advantages for the right advisor. Sabre access matters for air-heavy and corporate business, and Roave Agents does not cover that. WorldVia also reaches cruise and tour suppliers through the Travel Leaders Network, and it supports multi-agent agencies, with Team covering 2 agents and Enterprise up to 30.

In addition, its training is structured. Growth and higher plans include the 12-week Foundations program, and Enterprise adds monthly coaching sessions, quarterly business reviews, and phone support.

For advisors who sell air, run larger agencies, or want guided onboarding, those strengths are significant. A credentialed advisor focused on hotels may need less of them.

Who each is best for

Choose WorldVia if you need Sabre access, run a multi-agent agency, or want structured training and coaching from a host.

Choose Roave Agents if you already hold your credentials, book hotels regularly, work outside the US, or want to keep your full commission without a contract.

Some advisors will use each for what it does best, since Roave carries no exclusivity.

Frequently asked questions

Is Roave Agents a host agency? No. Roave Agents is a hotel booking platform for credentialed advisors and registered agencies. It does not provide seller of travel registration or a host agency's training programs.

Can I use Roave Agents and WorldVia together? Yes. Roave Agents has no contract or exclusivity terms, so it does not conflict with a host agreement. Before you add it, review your WorldVia agreement for any terms on outside booking platforms.

Which is cheaper, Roave Agents or WorldVia? Roave Agents is free for the first 12 months, then $199 per year or $24.99 per month. WorldVia's first year runs from $207 on Individual to $447 on Growth, and higher for Team and Enterprise, including the activation fee. WorldVia's split also depends on the plan you pay for.

Can I join Roave Agents from outside the US? Yes. Roave Agents accepts advisors outside the US. WorldVia accepts US-based advisors only.

Does Roave Agents offer GDS access? No. Roave Agents is built for hotel booking and does not provide direct GDS access. Advisors who need it for air or corporate bookings should keep that capability through their host or another provider.
